An overview of the various levothyroxine tablets which have been available in the UK. Older products will have been described as “Thyroxine” (rather than Levothyroxine).
There have been many changes of manufacturer, distributor, branding and own-label suppliers. This inevitably causes confusion.
There
could have been changes to the packaging, formulation, tablet
embossing, etc., which I cannot now identify. For the only major change
of formulation, which was from Teva to Teva New Formulation, this is
highlighted by change of colour. (The old formulation had to be
withdrawn as it was not delivering its claimed potency.)
